How do I find out when my domain expires?Enter it above. Renewatch queries the domain registry directly over RDAP and returns the exact expiry date the registry holds, along with the registrar of record. It takes about two seconds and needs no account.
The date shown is the authoritative one — the same one the registry uses to decide when the domain drops. If your registrar dashboard shows something different, trust the registry.
Does auto-renew mean my domain is safe?No. Auto-renew is a setting inside your registrar; it reports intent, not outcome. If the card on file expires the renewal silently fails while the dashboard still shows auto-renew as on. The only proof is the expiry date in the registry moving forward, which is what we watch.

What happens if a domain expires?It typically stops resolving immediately, then enters a redemption period of around 30 days during which restoring it costs roughly $80–200 rather than the normal renewal fee. After that it can be released and registered by anyone.
Email stops with the website: MX records vanish with the zone, so messages bounce from the first hour. Recovery timelines vary by TLD — some ccTLDs have no redemption period at all.
Which domain extensions can you check?Every TLD that publishes RDAP — about 1,200 of them, including .com, .net, .org, .dev and .app — plus .co, .ie, .us, .pt, .it, .se and .dk over WHOIS. Some registries publish no expiry date at all, including .de, .es, .ch, .at, .be and .eu, and for those we say so plainly rather than guessing.
For a TLD we cannot read an expiry date from, we say so on the result rather than guessing — and still check its mail records and TLS certificate every day.
